despite the weather man telling her it would rain it was so beautiful that day. not a cloud in the sky to darken her over joyed mood. the sun shone down at a heat that most people wanted to die from. but tina loved it. she loved everything about summer and she loved everythign about the beach. which was exactly where she was headed that day. her and her smexy fjord stallion Nutcracker. of course she wouldn't go aroudn calling him that. his nickanme was Cracker and tina always joked that he was her little gansta pony. what with a nickname like Cracker you gotta be a little gangsta.
tina pulled up to the beach parking lot and hopped out. her legs were clad in jeans and her feet had cowboy boots but her top half was only clad in a bikini. it was beach day and she was probably gonna go swimming so why not wear one. it was a smexxy blue color and had the word billabong on it. yea, she had a billibong bikini, sue her. tina opened the trailer and led a slightly hyper Cracker out. he whinnied and when he didn't recieve an answer threw his head in the air. tina laughed and kissed his velvety nose. "chill out baby boy, we're gonna have fun today!" she exclaimed. tina smiled and shook her head. she tied him to the trailer hook and taking her time she saddled him up in an older, not so fancy western saddle. it was her trail riding saddle, she didn't show in it ever.
after they were ready to go tina set her cowboy hat on her head, her sunglasses on her nose and a saddle bag behidn the cantle. it had some food for a picnic, a pocket knife, her cellphone and some items from a first aid kit, as well as a hoof pick. always good to be prepared. tina led her young stallion on to the sand and after he got used to walking in it she mounted up. her hair flowing freely from under the hat she smiled and squeezed her legs. "come on babe," she cooed.

One of the great things about boarding at Briarhurst Manor was that it was directly connected to the big trail system in the area and not too far from the beach. Sean was a serious rider, but sometimes you just needed to chill out and cut loose once in a while. Besides, a gallop on the beach would be good conditioning for his Irish Sport Horse. The fifteen minute walk on the trail to the beach was a good warm up for the stallion. He was excited to be out of the arena and was prancing more than walking. Normally this jigging gait would have annoyed Sean, but he was in high spirits as much as his horse was. He had thought about bringing out the small gelding he was schooling to see how he did on the trail, but riding Mick was a lot more high energy. As they got closer to the ocean, Mick pricked his ears and flared his nostrils at the unfamiliar scent of the sea. He half reared and Sean laughed as he urged him forward into a collected trot through the deep sand of the dunes.
The dunes gave way to flat sand and then the ocean. Mick tossed his head and bunched his muscles to bolt, but Sean was used to the stallion's nonsense and reined him to a walk. He walked him into the shallow surf and let the stallion paw at the water and snort at the waves. When the grey seemed to be bored with the water, Sean urged him back onto the firmer sand. With just slight pressure from his legs, Mick bounced forward into a smooth canter. Sean had every intention of letting the stallion go all out, but he wasn't going to let him just bolt off. When it was obvious that Mick was listening to him rather than focusing on the open space, Sean gave him his head. The stallion immediately surged forward, throwing up a spray of sand behind him. His strides were long and powerful, leaving great rents in the beach behind him. The stallion was running for the love of it and Sean let him go. Until he saw another horse and rider in the distance. Sean considered just buzzing past them, but that was really bad etiquette. So he reined Mick in gradually and by the time they reached the other pair, the grey stallion was down to a prancing trot. The grey pinned his ears at the close proximity to the other stallion and Sean shortened his reins, pulling the stallion to a halt. "Cute horse. Don't see too many of them around here."

tina loved riding on the beach. it had everything you could ask for. sandy areas that could so easily be used for dressage practice, water to run wild in, rocky surfaces for the perfect picnic and tan, as well as the fact that everyone went to beaches so you could so easily meet new people. tina smiled as she asked Cracker to walk in to the surf. he splashed and kicked up his heels, almost unseating her. tina sat deep in the saddle and laughed as she rode out his bucks and crow hops. he was just having fun and she knew it too. "your such a silly man," she exclaimed with another laugh. tina let him splash the water with his hooves, not caring that it got droplets on her jeans, she'd probably go in later anyways.
when he started snorting out the salt water he had inhaled tina realized it was time to move on a little. she giggled as he lifted his legs extra high, prancing through the surf. when they reached the edge of the water tina asked for a canter and Cracker obliged. they free galloped for a few strides before tina collected him. soon they were slowly and collectedly cantering down the beach. the canter was so beautiful and collected that a passerby with a camera stopped to take a few pictures. tina smiled and nodded at him. she loved when people took pictures of her horses, it made her feel amazing about owning them. just as she slowed Cracker to a walk a man rode up on his big stallion. she smiled at him and nodded. "thanks, i just couldn't leave him at home when i moved here," she explained. tina did a quick once over with her eyes before meeting his gaze. "i'm tatiana, but please call me tina,"
