The truck pulled into the unfamiliar stable yard behind it the rusty old two horse trail swayed uneasily. The driver cursed under his breath. It'd been days that he'd been on the road only pulling over for a short sleep here and there. How long had it been since the eventful evening when everything went wrong? he pulled into a parking space and leaned forward running a hand through his untidy black hair. This place looked somewhat welcoming. he just needed a place to spend a couple nights and somewhere the two horses in the back could stretch thier legs. He moved stiffly as he swung open the drivers side door and groaned as his boots hit the ground. His legs felt stiff, achy and unused. He ran a hand through his hair again wondering how the horses had held up to his extended trip. He opened the small door and peered in. The two horses nickered a warm welcome which brought a smile to his face. "don't worry guys i'll get you out of there and we'll be back on the road in no time. We'll find her i promise." He sighed heavily. He'd been searching for weeks now what were the chances of finding her. Last he'd heard she'd found her way to this area and settled down. He knew her and this wasn't like her. He shut the door and walked toward the darkened barn hoping someone would be around, if not there appeared to be a house in the distance. He could always try there. His worn boots and slept in jeans gave him a slightly startling appearance like a homeless person. He shrugged it didn't matter would he ever really see these people after a few days from now. Probably not. He slid open the heavy barn door and walked down the aisle. He heard a soft humming coming from down the aisle. So it appeared someone was around. He breathed a sigh of relief and walked into the main aisle.

The brunette hummed soflty to the large bay as she laid back against his belly in the fluffy straw. She closed her eyes. It was peaceful here but oh how she missed hom, missed her friends, her life. Well it's too late now. She thought to herself. She opened her eyes as the sound of footsteps rang in her ears. She stood up and peered through the bars. Not seeing anyone she sat back down in the straw next to the dozing thoroughbred. Again the sound of footsteps grabbed her attention. She stood up and walked toward the stall door. Her small frame carrying her quickly out of the stall to see who was in her barn at such a late hour. It still seemed wierd to her to have her own farm and a place to call home. She glanced down the aisle to see a stranger standing in the center he was facing toward the other end of the barn. It took her a second her and she shook her head mumbling to herself. "It can't be." she stood in shock before taking a step forward her breath catching in her throat. "Zane?" she whispered it in a hoarse voice.

He stood still for a moment looking about the place. Then the humming stopped he heard the rustle of straw and hoped the owner was nice. He glanced down the aisle toward where the pastures seemed to be. He turned as he heard a whisper from the other end of the barn. He stood in amazement. Instantly a smile spread across his exhausted features bringing a new light to them. Before he could even think his feet were carrying him to her. Oh how he'd missed her. She was his best friend and the closest thing he had to a sister. He grabbed her tightly. "RILEY!!" he hugged her close. He let her go and stepped back running a hand through his black hair again. "You know i've been searching for you and I never thought of what it'd be like after i found you." He hugged her tightly again. "Where the hell have you been?" he looked at her closely. She seemed to be doing well he took the second the glance around. "Is this your place?" he asked in a shocked sort of way.

Riley felt herself being pulled close to his body and she hugged him back tightly. she felt tears spring to her eyes. It'd been a couple of months since they'd seen each other but it felt like ages. She thought of all the years they'd spent hanging out in the barn and riding together. All the nights they sat at the track and talked about nothing. She felt him pull back and she released him reluctantly. "I never thought anyone would come looking for me. I just needed to get away from there." Her eyes shot to the ground. "I'm sorry." She felt herself being pulled close again. She enjoyed the embrace then pulled back. "I needed to clear my head, start over new. I found myself in this little town and it just felt right. I wanted to forget everything." she looked up at him like a child who'd done something bad. "I'm really sorry." She felt guilty for making him worry but she hadn't thought anyone would miss her. After the accident everything had turned upside down. Without her parents around the farm had been run into the ground by her older sister. The horses neglected and she was helpless unable to assist in anyway after being kicked off the property. She hadn't even had a chance to say good bye to anyone. She'd just managed to get her two horses from the farm. She'd just snuck away and hoped to forget her past. She smiled warmly at him. "Yeah what little money i'd been able to sneak off with bought me this once run down barn." she sighed and glanced around. "I've been working hard to get it up and running." she glanced down the gleaming aisle. It was hard to imagine that this place had been in really bad shape when she'd moved in. "So how is everything?" she took a second to look over him. He looked exhausted and she sniffed the air, he smelled horrible. "When was the last time you showered?" she waved her hand infront of her and held her nose. She began to laugh.
--------------------------------------------------------
He looked around the barn as she talked about how she'd been working hard to get the farm running. It was a fancy place, yet it had a down to earth feel, a calm relaxing atmosphere, He'd only been here a few moments but already he felt comfortable and almost at home. "I can tell." He nodded and turned his eyes back to her. He sighed heavily and ran a hand through his hair. "Well everything got worse after you left. She decided to auction everything, the horses, the farm. i mean everything." he pulled at his lip as he thought. "I know most of the horses went to decent farms in the area. A few werent so lucky and i few i managed to get away with." He smiled broadly. He'd managed to get away with two horses one very special to himself and one very special to riley. He Heard riley comment about his less then spectacular hygeine and he laughed. "Well i've been hunting for you showering was the last thing on my mind." he heard the familiar sound of a hoof heating trailer and he instantly remembered the horses. "Well i have something that will cheer you up even more then seeing me." he smiled. "Would you happen to have two open stalls?" he turned and began walking down the aisle before she even answered.

*note will finish later was bored so decided to roleplay out a little piece of riley's past and introduce a new character.
