It was a late Sunday afternoon and Charlotte had hooked up her two horse angle load float to her good old trusty Triton. The weather was hot but not burning, just hot enough to make her feel like going to the beach, but she never went there without Brae. If she could take that horses everywhere with her she would. The gentle wind was also blowing the waves flat, making it a calmer day for them. Giant waves never were something that you were all that grateful for, especially if you we're trying to train scared horses. Thankfully today the wind was in their favor, but this beach wasn't known for ever having rough waves, if any at all. That's why Charlotte always took the young and scared horses down here, because it was so calm.
They arrived at the beach and no other car or float was to be found. Charlotte grinned, she liked it when she had the beach to herself. She quickly parked the car in the shade and turned off the engine, grabbing the keys and her bag before jumping out. Brae whinnied as he heard Charlotte walking around the side of the float to the back. "Alright boy, i'm getting there" She said smiling as she lowered the ramp. Brae always loved the beach but never went out of control. "Whoa" She said with a sense of sternness while moving the divider. After she had moved out of the way she signaled with her hand for Brae to turn around and come towards her. She grabbed the lead rope and then jumped on the stallions back.
Once they hit the sand Charlotte jumped off and led Brae over to a shady spot and dropped her bag down and took off her beach shirt so she was just in her boardies and bikini top. Once again she jumped on the stallions back and got herself secure before grabbing a chunk of mane, "Go on" She said happily as she leant her other hand forward which had the lead rope, telling Brae that he could have his head and go. Brae cantered off at full speed towards the water. He splashed and swam, making a whole lot of racket but having the time of his life. All the time Charlotte was just laughing and smiling, having about as much fun as Brae

Riley walked down the barn aisle. It was warm out today and she was very much enjoying the weather. She sighed heavily as she picked up the pitch fork. It was to nice to be cleaning out stalls. She set the pitchfork down. It could wait til later she reassured herself. She walked down the aisle quickly ducking into the office. She leaned against the door jam smiling. "Hey there. How about a nice ride?" she eyed the black haired man behind the desk and winked. "Come on zane just one ride then we can get back to work." she strolled across the room and tugged gently on his arm. he grinned and sluggishly stood up from the chair. "Alright alright you win." he laughed at her child like antics. He grinned broadly. "First one to the beach wins." he darted through the barn grabbing a halter as he passed by the stall that housed a big dapple grey during the evening hours. Riley just laughed and headed off at the same speed grabbing the halter that belonged to a stunning chestnut gelding.
She approached the pasture and whistled. "Come on slew." she watched as the copper colored horse picked up his head and trotted in her direction. She slipped through the gate and slid the halter over his silky ears. "Thats a boy slew." He'd come a long way since he'd left the track and found his forever home here at briarhurst. She opened the gate and led the gelding through close it behind him so the tricky little pony he shared a field with wouldn't escape. She glanced around trying to spot zane. He'd had a longer walk then she did. She walked back to the barn and once inside cross tied the gelding quickly grooming him off. she heard the click of shoes on the ground and looked up to see zane leading in the dapple grey he owned. Zane led the horse past slew and then cross tied him as well quickly brusing off any dirt the horse and accumulated in the field. He grabbed his saddle and quickly tacked up the horse. He stood impatiently as he glanced back at riley. "Come on you slow poke." he laughed and then began walking toward the end of the barn. She quickly finished slipping the bridle on slew and followed after zane. She double checked the geldings leg wraps and then mounted up. The gelding pranced beneath her and she ran a hand down his neck trying to soothe him.
She steered toward the trail that lead toward the beach. It was the nice part about briarhurst it was within riding distance of the beach. She glanced back at zane who sat on his horse with a loose rein. She turned back to face the trail. After about a 10 minute ride they began to notice the trail changing to sand. She grinned. "So how about a race?" she eyed zane with mischief in her eyes. He nodded in response. "Alright a race down the beach sounds fun. Both of these horses are fit enough." he stroked his horses neck. this would be the first time he'd taken clipper down to the beach. He felt the horse relax and just plod along. He was enjoying the ride.
As they reached the beach riley gathered her reins halting slew. "You ready?" she glanced over at zane her hair lightly blowing in the breeze created by the warm salt water. He nodded and gathered his own reins halting the horse next to her. "Ready, Set, Go!" his voice rang out and the two horses burst forward the sand kicking up behind thier hooves. Riley leaned forward kneeding her hands along slews neck. A smile of pure satisfaction crossing her face. Zane followed closely behind his bulkier Irish sport horse a little slower then the thoroughbred athlete in front of him. He smiled as he watched riley do what she loved. He noticed the end of the beach approaching and began to pull up his horse. Riley stood in her stirrups pulling the slightly sweaty thoroughbred up and turning him in a circle to face zane. "That was fun. How about a swim?" she walked slew forward to stand next to zane. "Sure thats fine." they headed back down the beach noticing on the horizon another pair. The rider sat atop a dark colored horse but they couldn't make out much more but it did appear the pair were having a blast in the waves. The duo approached slowly.

Charlotte loved the feel of the wind blowing through her hair and the powerful muscles underneath her. Brae took her out to the deeper water where she had to get off, and they started swimming. She would calmly do breaststroke next to the stallion who was having the time of his life. Charlotte would always take Brae down to the beach after competition to relax his muscles, but on days like this she just came here for the fun of it. After Brae started swimming out too far Charlotte had to pull him back and take him to a depth where she could ride him again. Once Brae had swam a bit into shore he planted his hooves in the sand and Charlotte lifted herself onto his back, the high level of the water making it easier for her to get on.
Brae kept bounding his way through the water until something caught his attention. His head immediately shot up, ears pricked forwards, eyes fixed on whatever was coming. I followed his eyesight and saw two horses racing along the beach, the riders on the horses backs seemed to be having a lot of fun. She watched the slender chestnut horses keeping the lead, while the more stockier dapple grey kept a close position behind. They stopped as they reached the end of the beach and then started heading towards the water. Once the pair had started heading towards the water Charlotte knew they had spotted her and Brae and they were heading towards them slowly.
It wasn't any horses they'd met before because usually if Brae knew them he would have nickered ad gone trotting up to them, but Brae was acting a bit tense. From the look of the horses she could tell they weren't mares, plus Brae would have started acting a bit funny by now if they were. One of the two must be a stallion because Brae doesn't mind geldings but stallions he can be defensive because it's just natural instinct. He started walking towards the pair, still highly alert. Charlotte gripped the lead rope, ready to pull him away if anything happens. She knows Brae wont attack the stallion but she doesn't know what that stallion will do so she stayed prepared for whatever. "Easy boy" She told Brae, trying to keep him calm.
Brae stopped just before the two horses. His neck arched and nostrils flared, taking in the scents of the new horses. Brae's muscles tensed, waiting for what the other stallion was going to do. His stretched his neck out slowly and carefully, going to greet the other stallion. Charlotte payed attention to his muscles through her legs and watched him intently to see what was going to happen. She flickered her eyes up to the pair riding the horses. "Hi, I'm Charlotte, and this is Brae" She said introducing the two of them in a kind sweet voice, which was really the only voice she could ever speak in.
