Lexus slipped her blackberry into its case and set it on her bed as she pondered what to wear- the whole breeches and oversized hoodie look had nothing going for her. Skirt? Nah she’d never even seen this guy before, she didn’t need him thinking she was some bar hopping blonde. Because she wasn’t, most of the time. Lexus slipped on a pair of jeans she’d received as a gift, the only way she’d ever own an item of clothing from guess. They were fairly fitted, but she assumed it was the style of them. As for a shirt? That would take a small amount of thought. It’d be warm in their, at least she assumed it would be. She ran her fingers through her drawers, digging down in order to find something that hadn’t seen the barn before. Lexus pulled out a chocolate brown sweater thing that was a very light material. Lexus shrugged and tossed in on, figuring it was still casual enough to wear cowboy boots with. Yes the hundred and ten percent hunter girl had about ten pairs of Ariat fat baby’s. She had hung out with a few western people and once you put on a pair, you realize how awesome they are.
Lexus grabbed some money from her dresser and her phone before heading out to her black Mercedes. She loved this car but in the same breath hated it, it made her feel like some rich snob. Lexus glanced at Dufus who whined in the window, obviously thinking she should really stay and collect dog hair. The Dane was massive and huge, but the biggest cuddler she’d ever seen. Lexus just blew a kiss at the oversized lap dog before driving away and towards the bar. Lexus arrived, her ID already out since she seemed to get ID everywhere, even though she looked her age. Lexus just smiled as she showed it and walked in, figuring she might as well head towards the bar and get a drink. [/blockquote]

Michel stood at home staring at his dresser. He was almost late so he threw on a random tee and a pair of black jeans. He grabbed his cowboy hat and boots at the door and he was off. Until he had to run back to to get his phone. He pulled up to the bar and got out of his truck, walking past the bouncer. He looked lod enough. He walkde in and let his eyes ajust to the dark. Then his ears to the music. Finaly, he looked around, trying to spot the girl he'd been texting. He walked over to one girl at the bar. He ordered himself a drink and sat down, turning to her, "Hello, I'd be Michel, and you?" He hoped this was her. She was amazing looking. So pretty and she was even wearing cowboy boots! Wow, they were deffinatly going to get along.

Lexus looked at the guy next to her, he seemed decent looking. Dark hair, cowboy hat, fit body. Okay so she didn’t look to much after the hair and stomach because well, that was all Lexus tended to look at. She wasn’t the person to go to if you wanted somebody to say you have nice eyes, hell all she knew was the colour of hers and even that she had to think about. But she’d never been the extreme romantic, it kind of came and stayed that way when you spent your teen age years riding and feeding horses, where most of the boys you saw where farm hands or showed horses. It was fairly narrow until she hit about grade eleven, because lets get real in grade ten you can’t really consider any of those boys hot. Lexus heard his name and remember the sole purpose she was here, to meet the guy she’d been texting. Well that was hard she thought to herself with a laugh. “I’m Lexus, nice to actually meet you” she said with a smile.
Lexus saw the bar tender finally stop drooling over some girl who she hadn’t seen around before, though the girl didn’t appear to be one of those people you’d see in a barn at six in the morning. Or in a barn, period. Lexus just put a smile on and watched him hop right over, that was the benefit of blonde hair, you stood out in a crowd and bartenders seemed to pick you out quickly. It was a good thing, because Lexus had no problem helping herself or making a scene. It probably wasn’t in her best interest to go out to the bar for the first time with the people she went with, figuring her riding coaches and friends would be easy going? Yeah they out drank everybody in the bar and out danced everyone. Plus had no problem making scenes. Whatever, it’d been a pretty killer night. “Can I have Malibu and coke” asked Lexus, watching the bar tender tilt his head slightly. Apparently it was a crime for a girl to order something besides a margarita or sex on the beach? Wouldn’t be the first time. Lexus just slid over a few bills and took the drink her handed to her.

Michel took a sip of his drink. "nice to actually meet you too." he said with a laugh. He looked over her bodice one more time before turning back to the bar. He pulled out a 20$ and called the bartender over, slipping it to him to pay for the girls drinks. He turned back to his date. "So, you ever done any ridin?" He glanced at her boots. What she a wester rider or an all around or what? Not many english gals end up in boots. He slid his hat off and let the neck starp catch it to his neck. He looked down at his phone. No emergancy calls from work. Good.
Michel watched as the bartender came back, taking Lexsus' order. He watched to see what he would do with the money. Michel had payed for the drinks so the bartebder had better refuse it. He took the last sip of is and pulled out some money. "Eh, buddy! Can I get a burbon?" He wait for the man to respond and get the drink. Then he payed him and turned back to his date again.

“Thanks” said Lexus as she watched the bar tender push her money back towards her and nod towards Michel. Lexus took a sip, it was a little too much coke and not enough rum but she’d grown up with one rule when it came to pouring drinks, pour until the ice floats or more. Lexus scanned the bar, seeing nobody she knew. That was pretty weird for her, even here she knew a good amount of people now. Apparently these barn people didn’t show their faces in the bar very often, then again she rarely did either other then when she made plans to.
“Yeah, I have three horses plus I train for Steadfast. I show mainly hunters and jumpers, though western once in awhile. And you?” asked Lexus, not really sure how to answer the question. He looked like he rode western and she didn’t want him to think she was an English snob, because she had a brother in that world- they really thought they were English snobs. Other then the breed circuit people that rode English, but they didn’t really count because they pretty much just changed tack and learned how to post, they still sat the canter. It was kind of weird, she had never really been sure how to take the how breed circuit riding when it came to English. But that was Lexus for you, never really normal and never really insane. Somehow she managed to sit a bit in between. Lexus looked back over at Brad, waiting for his response. [/blockquote]

Michel nodded back to the bartender. "Welcome." he said, turing to Lexus. He glance around, not seeing anyone he recognized. But, then again, he didn't really know anyone except Lexus, so that didn't surprise him much. Just as his eyes past the door, it opend. The light was so much that it made Michel have to blink hard the stop seeing spots from the sudden burst of light and brightness. Why did everyone always insist on keeping bars so dark? It only ever lead to trouble.
"Horses, I have one. Name's Miserable Outside or Misery for short and I'm boarding at Briarhurst. We tend to ridewestern, but I'm thinking of setting her up as a broodmare soon and start training some foals. Wow, too much talk about me. What're your goals?" Michel blushed. He never talked this much, not in proper english for that matter. He phone vibrated but he ignored it. Reconsidering his job, he pulled it out and checked, nothing important. He put it away and waited on Lexus to talk.

“What do you want to train for? Pleasure, reining, games?” asked Lexus, running off the many versions of western in her head. Pleasure and games seeing to be the most popular, but there was also halter and showmanship and horsemanship and all this other crap that Lexus didn’t fully understood. Lexus was well a nod and smile kind of girl when it came to western, knowing enough from watching her brother to answer any questions somebody might have but not knowing enough to fully follow the western world. Lexus just chuckled softly at the fact the guy thought he was talking a lot, well he probably wouldn’t ever have that problem with her. She had a hard enough time shutting up.
“I thought about being a lawyer, but I figure I make twice as much money in a year now if I work full time training and showing for other people. Plus, I don’t think I could do the whole office thing. Maybe later in life, but right now I kind of enjoy spending my life at the barn. Why not do something you love right?” said Lexus, more or else rambling on and having to force herself to shut up. She took another few sips from her drink, knowing that she had no idea what she wanted to do with her life. But this worked for her, and this was her life. “How about you?” asked Lexus, deciding to keep the conversation flowing since Lexus was one to have a conversation with herself. Literally, if it wasn’t for the fact she had a dog that was big enough to be a human, she’d be scared for her own life. Lexus watched his face, slightly hesitation. It made her wonder, and when he brought the phone out it rose her curiosity. Curse that stupid thing called curiosity, it just made her life miserable. Lexus just smiled and finished her drink, oh how good it was that she wasn’t a light weight. [/blockquote]

Train for!?! He'd never trained for anything. But hmmm... "If I had to pick it would be pleasure. But a bit of rodeo too." He thought it through after he'd said it. Yup, that was it. He thought about his father, training to be the best all the time, never having time for him. He had sworn to never be like that. Michel head snapped up when he thought he heard someone laugh. It must have been the wind. Looking around, he caught a glimps of his drink. "Bartender, hmm... I think I'll have a White Russain." He waited for the drink.
Michel sat contently, listening to her talk about work. When it came time for him to talk, he took a sip. "If you don't like it, don't do it. That's why I'm a vet." he said with a nod. Only stopping to drink somemore. "I've always loved animals, especialy horses." He checked his phone again. Who was it that kept calling? Not the office for sure. Oh well, nothing too important f they coldn't leave a voicemail. "What do you train for?"

“I’ll have another Malibu and coke” said Lexus with a light smile towards the bar tender, unsure if she should bring out money to pay or not. She decided she might as well and if it was denied then at least she’d feel good about offering to pay. She didn’t have a problem buying every other round. She listened to his words knowing they were completely true, but their wasn’t anything she truly liked. She didn’t want to do anything really, own and run a barn with amazing training faculties. But Lexus didn’t teach lessons, she hated it. She didn’t mind the odd one with somebody that knew how to ride and cruise around a course, but the whole teaching people to ride was absolutely not her thing. Being a groom? Yeah right, once you’ve lived on a farm and been at the top you just want to punch anybody you see in the face that talks down to you. Vet? Yeah she couldn’t handle it, she could dissect a dead baby pig no problem, but once it was something live it wasn’t her thing, at all. Farrier, never. Nate loved it, but it was who he was. She wasn’t really built for the job either, her hundred and some odd pounds couldn’t support two thousand pounds leaning on her- not without bulking up past her extreme. She really didn’t want to look like sumo women only with muscles. “That’s the problem, I don’t know what I love. I’m just going to have to own a barn, but you don’t really make money off that other then lessons. Unless you way over charge for board.. But hello small town hero, I can’t do that” said Lexus, unaware of how much she was rambling on. But she always did that, though she was sure once the alcohol started kicking it it’d get worse. But she’d take that over throwing up any day, she’d never done well with the girls who threw up after a few shots.
“I’ll remember to call you next time the house pony is injured.. Or thinks he is” said Lexus with a laugh. She always referred to Dufus as a house pony, he was a tad too massive to be considered a dog. But small dogs weren’t her thing, other then a few she’d met, but she preferred to not take the risk. Plus, they’d get squished under the massive warm blood feet the she seemed to hang out with. “Hunters first, I like them to have some show experience with fences at a nice easy pace and not so huge oxers. But then the ones that aren’t text book hunters I take into the Jumper ring. Plus I do some work on large ponies, mainly because of the big market. But I can’t show them hunters, so I don’t usually take them on” said Lexus, not really sure how to explain what she did. She just took horses she liked, whether they were three or seven, and worked on getting them ready and going in the hunter ring. She watched him pull out his phone again, but shove it back in. “You can answer your phone, I won’t bite your head off” said Lexus jokingly. She was a little upfront sometimes, but it’d drive her up the wall just wondering who was calling. Probably his girlfriend, thought Lexus with a mental laugh. [/blockquote]

Michel nodded once again to the bartender. She was sweet, trying to pay for herself. But he had her coverd. Espesially if she kept drinking these. Jobs, why did everyone care about jobs? He'd learnt that they do, but why did they? Who knows! He'd wanted to be a vet since his first foal on the ranch had died because his local vet was out at another call. He'd promised to do his best to make every call he got, if he ever got one. Michel checked his phone again. Still no call display, but definatly not work's ringtone. He looked back up a Lexus. "Well, If you owned a barn, I'd help teach, plus I'd be your on location vet! For a lw price too!" Michel smiled. A barn owner with a heart. Almost a first. Plus, a good looking one. Not so rare, but she was unique.
"House pony? Do y'a mean a dog? I had one of those back in the day. I'd like one now too! I might just get one." He'd only ever heard on person call big dogs house ponies before, his grandpa. He'd had an Irish Wolfhound and a German Shep. Big dogs those were. But when they got sick, the vet got too scared to come out to give 'em a check up. Yup, theyt died, another stupid vet. "Why can't you show the large ponies? Aren't there any pony hunter classes around here?" Michel laughed. He hadn't scoped out the curcut yet. Soon he would, hopefully as the on site vet. "Thanks, but I don't know who it is, all I know is it's not mom and it's not the office." Michel said, laughing at the end. His mom barly knew how to work a phone, wait... Did she think it was his girlfriend? "So, anyone special in town?"

Lexus just smiled as he paid for her drink, yet again. She kind of felt bad, but it wasn’t anything expensive. She didn’t really due the whole shots thing unless encouraged and well fancy drinks just weren’t her style. Plus as bad as it sounds, she hated the heavy taste of alcohol. For the most part could drink like a fish, but hated the taste of anything fancy. A little weird? Yes. “I’ll keep you in mind, but you’ll make more money of my dog then you will my horses. He’s a wimp” said Lexus with a laugh, missing her huge black dog that she knew was waiting impatiently to get home. Nate was out shoeing on emergency so she hadn’t worried about locking him in her room, Dufus hated Nate. She wasn’t sure why but he was definitely her dog.
“Well he is a Great Dane, so he’s bigger then some ponies. Just don’t get something yappy, I’ve only met maybe three small dogs that weren’t just a pain” said Lexus as she took a sip form her drink, this one a tiny bit stronger. But Lexus still thought it felt weak, she was kind of a pour heavy person. Which was weird, but when you started out drinking with just a bit of coke, you never really can go back to mainly coke. “If you’re over eighteen, which I passed a few years ago, you can’t show large ponies in the hunter ring. At least you couldn’t in Canada, but that’s what made them so valuable. A nice hunter pony going around was hard to find, so people paid huge money. Twenty grand for something to show eighteen inch verticals with, let alone something to show height with” said Lexus, going over the many restrictions set by groups and organizations. But really they did make sense for the most part. Lexus nodded, not really sure what to think. She answered her phone all the time, but she was kind of bizarre like that. But sometimes it was people calling looking for horses, looking fro training, she never really knew who was on the other end. She listened to his next words and just laughed “Other then my dog and horses? Nah.. Well my brother, but he’s a different kind of special” [/blockquote]

Michel smiled to Lexus. He had wierder tastes than her. I had to be strong, normally on the rocks. He could get drunk on coke, but not beer. He had no idea why, but that's the way it was. He didn't want to makea bad impression, so he'd drink his pop with alcohol. "Thanks, wait who's the wimp? The dog or the horse?" Michel was confused. Wow, she was good at that.
"Definatly not small and yappy, that'd give me a heack acke! I was thinking maybe a lab. I'd step on anything smaller, unless I was operating on 'em." Michel took a swig of his drink. Woo! Too much coke."Over eighteen? Well, I don't know about here. How old are you anyways? I guess that's something to know so I don't feel like to much of a petofile. Anyways I think you're smart training them." Michel thought about the rules for vet school, not quite as strict, but some very important, such as don't remove any vital organze without transplants. Like anyone would do that though. "You bro, nice. No siblings here ha!"

Lexus laughed when he was confused, it seemed to happen regularly. She thought too much out loud and well, apparently was much smart then her appearance led people to believe. A blonde entering law school? Yeah she’d raised a few eyebrows when she’d thought about that. A blonde who spends more time correcting your vocabulary then listening to your insults? Yeah, that was her. She’d been tempted to die her hair brown some days and see if people understood her better. “Dog. Horses are fairly tough, that and I know how to deal with anything minor. Dogs on the other hand? Well I know how to feed them and how to run after them- I mean walk them” said Lexus, a smile crossing her lips as she held the glass and brought it to her lips.
“A lab? Never been a fan, I don’t know why though. Maybe the fact that compared to house pony that lives in my bed their small. But they are nice dogs. Whatever you do, don’t get a border collie” said Lexus, unsure of how people could keep up with the constant herding and their large amount of energy. It just pissed Lexus off. “Twenty one, need ID?” asked Lexus with a laugh, reaching for her back pocket. “And what about you, old man?” asked Lexus raising an eyebrow attempting to hide back laughter. “And thanks, I just take them into schooling shows. It’s only rated shows that actually have that rule” explained Lexus, finishing her drink. She was probably going through these a tad fast, but seriously they were a tad weak. “Can I have another on of these, only a little more Malibu and a lot less coke” said Lexus with a smile, if not she was going to seriously start drinking the fancy shit. [/blockquote]

Michel tried to study her as she spoke. All he could come up with was blonde, with brains, that liked to drink. He liked the last two, the first was just a bonus. "Nah, run with the dog, it's the only way to go. I know what you mean, try chasing a huge irsih wolfhound pup down a country rode. That, way funny! And good exersise." Michel took another swig. Wow, too mch pop!
"No use for a collie, no sheep at home, yet that is. Ha!" Michel started to laugh. He'd always wanted a big yard with some livestock. "No, I belive you. I was just checking. You look younger than that. As for me 25. Believe it or not. That's that." Schooling shows, don't you have to be in school to enter those?. Michel nodded again to the bartender, but then his ohne vibrated. Work, dang! "Gotta go, I'll try to get back soon!"

“Yeah, whoever said any dog will heal with a little work, never had anything that weighed over ten pounds!” said Lexus with a laugh, shaking her head at the picture of him running down the road after a dog. That in itself would be priceless. “I look younger then that?! I’ve never heard that before.. Like I get my ID checked all the time at bars, but their supposed to do that if you anything under like 23. But a lot of people assume I’m twenty one.” said Lexus, thinking about her age. She felt she looked her age, but she also knew everything about herself and didn’t base that on physical appearance alone. She’d always talked like she was a good three years older, but I guess she’d never looked at herself in the mirror and asked herself how old she looked. Then again it depended on what she was wearing, put her in a blazer and high heels she’d been able to pull off drinking age a few years before she should have. It didn’t help she was short, so heels added an inch or two and made her average height. “As far as I know, unless it’s different here, schooling is a term meant for schooling your horse, a show that is made to practice for a rated show. You don’t need any memberships outside of the club your showing in to show schooling.” said Lexus, taking a sip of the drink the bartended had set down for her. Much better, still a little weak but she’d always preferred mixing her own. Malibu Rum and Cherry Whiskey were by far the best things to put in drinks ever, followed by vodka. “Have Fun” said Lexus, assuming that was probably the best thing to say. Lexus grabbed her drink and turned to a girl next to her, deciding to start a conversation. She wasn’t worried, the girl looked like she’d be a decent person and a few other people where starting to gather, she’d make fun of the time, that was never a difficulty. [/blockquote]
